Innovation Horizons Wins DSLBD 2025 Small Business Week Pitch Competition

Innovation Horizons is proud to be named a winner in the District of Columbia Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD)’s 2025 Small Business Week Pitch Competition. Competing in the Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) category, we shared our bold vision for transforming continuing education in health and human services—and walked away with top honors.

Our winning pitch, “Empowering Smarter Learning for Health & Human Services,” showcased how our AI-driven learning platforms are reshaping how public agencies and mission-driven organizations train healthcare professionals. With over 30,000 active users across our government and nonprofit CE programs, we’re building data-driven, adaptive learning solutions that link training to real-world outcomes—not just quiz scores.

What We Pitched

  • Problem: Healthcare continuing education is outdated—static, passive, and disconnected from performance.
  • Our Solution: A smart CE platform that adapts to learners, tracks behavior change, and drives performance improvement.
  • Impact: 80%+ course completion rates, scalable integrations with EMRs/EHRs, and direct links to care quality and equity.
  • Growth: $600K in current sales, expanding pilot partnerships, and preparing for NSF grant submission.

Why It Matters

Winning this competition is more than an accolade—it’s a validation of the work we’ve done in D.C. and a springboard for national expansion. As a DC-based, veteran-owned small business committed to public impact, we’re honored to be recognized for using innovation to improve healthcare access, equity, and outcomes.
